VOSAP participated in the C20 Conference on Human Rights as Human Values, held on June 8 at Nalanda University in Bihar. The distinguished event was inaugurated by the Honorable Governor of Bihar, Shri Rajendra Arlekar Ji. We were honored to have Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Vice-Chancellor of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, deliver the keynote address.
As a platform for discussions on human rights, the C20 conference provided an excellent opportunity for VOSAP and AIC RMP to showcase our collaborative model between the Civil Society and Innovators for the Empowerment of Persons with Disability. During the presentation, We shed light on the vulnerable conditions faced by persons with disabilities in relation to human rights, specifically women with disabilities, children with disabilities and seniors with disabilities.
At VOSAP, we are committed to improving this situation through our strategic approaches. Our initiatives include raising awareness and fostering sensitivity towards rights of persons with disabilities through advocacy, as well as providing education and employment opportunities through enablement programs to persons with disability to fight for their own rights and equality.
Moreover, we had the privilege of presenting our collaborative model with AIC RMP, which aims to promote innovations in the Assistive Technology Sector. We highlighted the potential for replicating this model in various G20 countries, with the goal of scaling up the innovation and adoption of assistive technology. By collectively integrating persons with disabilities into mainstream society, we aim to create significant improvements in human rights conditions.
The C20 Conference on Human Rights as Human Values was a meaningful platform for us to engage in deliberations, share our experiences, and collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations to work together in coming years. Together, we are working towards a more inclusive society where the rights of persons with disabilities are respected, upheld, and protected.
