Today, we are thrilled to share the impact made by Voice of SAP in the months of April and May 2024.

1. VOSAP launched project HITARH for helping Intellectually Disabled avail Government Health Benefits:

Project HITARTH

VOSAP launched project HITARTH on May 13, 2024, in collaboration with PARIVAAR NCPO {PARIVAAR – National Confederation of Parents Organizations}; a Federation of over 310 Parents Associations and Civil Societies in 31 States of India.

The project “HITARTH” aims to bring significant healthcare benefits in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities in India who are eligible to get various healthcare services through the “NIRAMAYA” Health Insurance Scheme of Government of India.

With our “HITARTH” initiative VOSAP aims to bring better health and services to the lives of 10,000 people with intellectual disabilities under pilot program for first year.

2. VOSAP expands its subsidy program to include new innovative devices:

Jyoti AI Smartglasses: Jyoti AI Smartglasses are advanced wearable devices designed to assist visually impaired individuals by integrating artificial intelligence and audio capabilities. They help with Object recognition, People recognition, Currency and Color Identification,Text Interpretation, Obstacle Detection, Emergency features,etc

This device is heavily subsidized by VOSAP and can be availed at INR 1,000 by the beneficiary.

Orbit Reader 20: Orbit reader 20 is a Braille Display device for Visually Impaired, its unique 3-in-1 device serves as a self-contained book reader, a note-taker and as a braille display by connecting to a computer or smartphone via USB or Bluetooth.

This device is heavily subsidized by VOSAP and can be availed only at INR 15,000 by the beneficiary while it’s market price is INR 45,000.

Smarton Smartglasses: Smarton Smartglasses utilize AI and computer vision technology to provide various functionalities aimed at improving independence and accessibility for users. The device provides Object Detection and Identification, Currency Detection, Real-time Updates and Navigation.

This device is heavily subsidized by VOSAP and can be availed at INR 2,000 by the beneficiary.

3.VOSAP Ignite Program: Applications Open for 2024-2025

Witnessing the success of VOSAP Ignite Program for the past 3 years, VOSAP is all set to start the new batch for VOSAP Ignite Program. 100+ students have volunteered more than 3,000 hours so far and 20 of which have received PVSA (Presidents Volunteering Service Award).
VOSAP IGNITE PROGRAM is a 9 month intensive volunteering programs for Grade 9,10,11,and 12 in the US and is designed to encourage young students to volunteer.

4.Events:

April 9, 2024: Ayodhya:

In March 2024, VOSAP empowered over 1,000 individuals through its ‘Gift of Vision’ initiative by providing free cataract surgeries. The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed guests including P.P. Shri Kamalnayandas Shastri ji Maharaj, P.P. Shri Ramayani Ji, P.P. Shri Rajkumardas ji Mahantshri (Hanuman Gadhi), Shri Anand Shastri ji Maharaj, and Shri Girishpati Tripathi ji, Mayor of Ayodhya.

The event saw the participation of the VOSAP team and volunteers in person, while VOSAP Founder Shri Pranav Desai and additional volunteers joined virtually. The saints blessed the event, offering their support and blessings to the VOSAP Founder and the organization’s mission.

April 17, 2024: NAB Nashik, Maharashtra

VOSAP enabled 78 Visually Impaired Students with Smartphones at NAB Nashik, Maharashtra. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sandeep Karnik joined the event as a chief guest.

VOSAP Donor and Chairman of AST Enzymes, Shri Vasant Rathi, VOSAP Founder Pranav Desai, Board member Jayana Shah and Volunteers joined the event virtually and in person. Many of these students were receiving the device for the very first time.

 

Individual Enablement with Signable and Kibo App, Kibo XS Device and EV Commode Wheelchair:

VOSAP enabled 100+ Hearing impaired individuals with Signable App for communication, 25+ Visually impaired individuals with Kibo XS Device and Kibo App and 25+ individuals with locomotor disabilities with Battery operated patented Commode Wheelchair. These devices, app link were delivered directly to the home address of these beneficiaries. VOSAP has been subsidizing these innovative devices and services to increase adoption and affordability for Specially Abled People. Surgical Intervention at Porecha Eye Hospital: VOSAP’s Gift of Vision program has already has transformed the lives of over 10,300 individuals by providing free cataract surgeries, allowing 95%+ people regain their vision.

Recognizing the profound impact of vision restoration, VOSAP has now extended its support to include 20+ cornea transplants surgeries every month. Although this is very costly surgery, but the impact is transformative on young lives.
