Bidda Sarvodaya Trust Implants Prosthetic Legs for Patient in 24 hours

Bidda Sarvodaya Trust was established 47 years ago and The Jaya Rehab Center, run by the Bidda Sarvodaya Trust, has been serving the disabled for years. The organization has made efforts for the rehabilitation of all types of paralyzed people. Jaya Rehab is the refuge of those who have no one. Even today, the Jaya Rehab Center is providing free treatment and equipment to every disabled person affected by the 2001 earthquake.

Vijaybhai Chheda, Chairman, Bidda Sarvodaya Trust, said that over 54 lakh patients have been treated here in the last 47 years. The Jaya Rehab Center, which was started after the 2001 earthquake, treats about 60,000 people every year, and more than 7 lakh people are treated at the rehab center.

On July 2, a deaf and mute patient who had lost his right leg due to a train accident, to the Jaya Rehab Center. He used to work as a canteen boy at a railway station in Gandhidham. A Stranger sent him to Jaya Rehab Centre, to have his leg amputated. He was treated at Biddani Hospital, Bidda. No one knew about his whereabouts and it was difficult to communicate with him as he did not know how to write. When Jaya Rehab Center, Director Mukesh Doshi, and Chairman Vijaybhai Chheda as well as the police chief of Bidda were informed about the incident, they showed readiness to face this challenge and treat the patient.

On July 3 afternoon, the prosthesis was implanted by technician Harishchandra Kubal. Dr. Shobhinka and Hemraj trained the patient to walk with the help of his feet as well as to get up and down the stairs.

The main objective of the Jaya Rehab Center is to rehabilitate every disabled person in their life. In just 24 hours, prostheses were made, he was trained to walk, and again he has become self-reliant.

He was given vocational training and was asked to work in the main kitchen of the organization, and he did it very well. He was rehabilitated by the Jaya Rehab team in just 24 hours with prosthetic legs and self-employment as his old canteen boy.
