Thanks to efforts of VoiceofSAP, especially of Mr. Pranav Desai that the Government of Gujarat has decided to draft, adopt and implement a State Level Policy on Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The inspiration for this initiative came during a meeting of team of VoiceofSAP led by Pranav with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani. The Chief Minister immediately decided to invite a group of professionals and workers in the field of disability development to draft a policy with the support and participation of Mr Kamal Dayani, Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and Mr. Ashwani Kumar, P.S. to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat. The meetings of the group were coordinated by Bhushan Punani, M
ember, Core Committee of VoiceofSAP. The draft of the Policy is under the consideration of Government of Gujarat. Hopefully, very soon this Policy shall be adopted and implemented for the State of Gujarat.
