From Vision 2020 to Vision 2047 for Divyangjan: The transformative journey of past 10 years of Empowering Specially Abled People (Divyangjan) received tremendous support during my India visit in January 2025. In a special edition, we shared the details of my meeitng with Honorable Prime Minister, Honorable 14th President of India and field visits in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat to accelerate the activities, garner support for Vision 2047, $1 Tn economic contribution from disability sector. DIVERSITY IN ADVOCACY

Dancing For Diversity – Promoting Disability Inclusion With Bharatnatyam 

On February 19, 2025, VOSAP in collaboration with Nityashetra School of Dance hosted Shamskruti – Rhythms of Inclusion in Tustin, California, featuring 30 Bharatanatyam dancers portraying stories of individuals with disabilities. VOSAP leader Jayana Shah conceived and worked with Dance Academy.

The evening was attended by VOSAP team alongside  Zeel Ahir – City of Artesia Council Member, Daphna Patel – Finance Director at City of Artesia, Dr. Pradeep Shukla, and other leaders from academia, business, and social groups. Personal stories shared by dancers Sanchita and Astha about embracing disabilities within their families deeply resonated with the audience of over 300 attendees. Watch the event video HERE.

 

 

VOSAP Igniters of Houston organized Art From Heart Contest

On February 15, 2025, VOSAP’s Art from Heart contest centered around the theme of Disability, brought together 41 passionate young artists, advocates, and volunteers to champion disability inclusion through the power of creativity. Each artwork conveyed the message of empowerment, accessibility, and hope. VOSAP leader Hema Dave organized this event and VOSAP leader Achalesh Amar ji met the team, inspired them.

These young changemakers demonstrated that creativity serves as a  powerful bridge for inspiration, awareness, and meaningful change—transforming the world into a more inclusive place, one brushstroke at a time.

In February, the VOSAP team had the privilege of presenting Honorable 14th President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji, with beautiful VOSAP paintings on the theme of ‘DISABILITY’, each carrying a profound message of inclusion and empowerment.

Hon.14th President deeply engaged with the artwork, appreciating the vision behind each piece and encouraging VOSAP’s mission. Accessibility India Campaign “SUGAMYA YATRA” for PwDs – A Historic Initiative by Govt of India that VOSAP Endorses

On February 7, 2025, India took a historic initiative under which Accessible India Campaign “SUGAMYA YATRA” (accessible journey) was launched. It was flagged off by Rajesh Aggrawal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of PwDs, Govt of India where this nationwide initiative was conducted across all States and UTs to raise awareness about Accessibility in public spaces.

Organized with the support of district collectors, the program enabled selected PwDs to visit various public facilities to assess their accessibility. Participants provided feedback of their visits through the “Yes to Access” app. The Sugamya Yatra was conducted over 2 to 4 days in each district. ENABLEMENT

VOSAP’s transformative impact for 300 visually impaired students in Delhi NCR

In January, VOSAP has transformed the lives of 300 visually impaired students by enabling them with AI enabled smart glasses. The event was graced by the presence of: Shri Pranav Desai (Founder, VOSAP), Shri Rajesh Aggarwal (Secretary, DEPwD, Govt. of India), and Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi (Director General, IIPA) and other dignitaries such as Sridhar, Dilip Singh, Vijay Rai and Dr Uttam Ojha. Enabled 55 SAPs with Digital Hearing Aids in Modasa

 

VOSAP, in collaboration with V.H. Gandhi School for Hearing Impaired, enabled 55 hearing-impaired students in Modasa with digital hearing aids. We were honored to have esteemed dignitaries Shri Nirajbhai Sheth (President, Modasa Nagar Palika) Sushri Prashasti Parik (I.A.S., Collector & District Magistrate, Arvalli), and T.B. Patel grace the event, reaffirming their support for accessibility and inclusion while accelerating Vision 2047 for Divyangjan. 

 

 

 


 

Enabled 45 hearing impaired students with Digital Hearing Aids in Rajkot

VOSAP, in collaboration with Shree C.S. Virani Deaf & Dumb School,   enabled 45 hearing-impaired students in Rajkot by providing them digital   hearing aids, enabling them to pursue education and independence with confidence. In the presence of Shri Killol Kamdar (VOSAP Executive Member), our dedicated volunteers, and a shared vision for empowerment, we’re making a lasting impact on the lives of these students, giving them the tools to communicate, learn, and   thrive. 

 

 

 

Providing ‘Gift of Vision’ through Specialty Eye Surgeries at Porecha and Tejas Eye Hospitals

VOSAP, in collaboration with the Blind People’s Association, has been funding specialty eye surgeries at Porecha and Tejas Eye Hospitals, providing the Gift of Vision and hope for independent living. A corneal transplant restores functional vision for a patient with a scarred cornea, while a complex cataract and anti-glaucoma surgery helped another regain partial sight. These specialty procedures have helped over 100 people so far and is made available at no cost to people who can not afford. Additionally, VOSAP’s founder visited Porecha Eye Hospital, engaging with patients and families about the life-changing surgeries, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to restoring vision and transforming lives. VOSAP has provided ‘Gift of Vision’ to over 10,000 people over the years.

 

Enabling SAPs with prosthetic limbs through camps in Mathura, Agra and Jhansi

VOSAP, in collaboration with Kalyam Karoti Mathura, has set an ambitious goal of enabling 1,000 SAPs by providing prosthetics. So far, we have supported about 200 individuals through camps in Mathura, Jhansi and Agra. Multiple such camps are planned to further empower SAPs with prosthetic support in Uttar Pradesh. These initiatives aim to enhance mobility, independence, and quality of life for beneficiaries.

 

2025 Scholarship Launch

The Voice of SAP Scholarship is now open! Generously funded by the Raj Rana Family Trust, this initiative is dedicated to supporting specially-abled students in the US, open to high school seniors enrolling in accredited institutions by providing a one-time award of up to $4,000, our mission is to empower students with resources for a brighter future through education..
