Manovikas Kendra Rehabilitation & Research Institute for the Handicapped, Kolkata

We feel privileged in introducing Manovikas Kendra Rehabilitation and Research Institute for the Handicapped, as a premiere Institution of Eastern India working for the identification, education, training, rehabilitation and research of the intellectually challenged children and young adults for the past 27 years. Established in 1974, with only two children Manovikas Kendra now has over 7, 000 beneficiaries on its roll. Manovikas Kendra has recently started its Multi-Sensory Unit, exclusively for the severely and profoundly challenged children, which is one of the kinds in India. The Institute also houses a Biomedical Research & Diagnostic Unit, where a team of dedicated scientists is working on the genetic aspect of Mental Retardation.
