To empower the marginalized segments of society specifically the women-folk the youth and the children in the areas of education, health, socio-economy and governance and culture using the rights approach to development in programmes emphasizing capacity building and advocacy. Smokus sees it as it mission the achievement of sustainable human, economic, and environmental development through the exercise, assertion, and protection of human rights; and strengthened governance marked by transparency and accountability.
