We are thrilled to launch the Volunteering Blogs on our website to share the experiences of our volunteers who have contributed to the organization’s mission since its inception.

One person’s voice becomes the voice of the people when it is put into action by many. One such volunteer, whose motivation came from our founder, Mr. Pranav Desai, who has contributed to the VOSAP Mission not only as a volunteer but also as a well-wisher and advisor, has shared his story with us.

Mr. Rohit Shah hails from Ahmedabad and is a business leader and VOSAPian. Rohitji was GCCI’s Chairman of the CSR Committee in 2016. The Founder, Pranav Desai, met Rohitji and told him about his work in the disability sector in India and his vision of making the world a more inclusive, accessible, and empowered place.

Rohitji was moved when he saw how Pranavji was working with Specially Abled People in India and the United States to do amazing things. When he found out about the projects and work that Mr.Pranav was doing he was motivated to join the mission.

He stated, “I was impressed by Pranavbhai’s initiatives, and it occurred to me that rather than being associated with anything else, I should associate myself with the work of this organization.”

He has been actively volunteering in India ever since to advance this mission. Mr. Desai and Rohitji met with leaders of the Blind People’s Association in Ahmedabad, which was the beginning of Voice of SAP’s activities in India.

Rohitji and Mr. Pranav also had a get-together and invited friends and family to join the cause. Mr. Desai shared his vision with them, which led to the expansion of this mission and the beginning of the activities in Ahmedabad.

Mr. Pranav was invited by Rohitji at various times to inspire CSR leaders at GCCI. In order to move the mission forward, they also met with various social sector organizations and media outlets, including Times of India.

“I have been active in various social activities, but the fact that a person who was sitting in the USA and doing various amazing work for Specially Abled People in India, thinking about people of his country motivated me that We must do something for our people,And at that point, I decided to be a part of this because I realized I had to take on this work in my life as a business leader and to give this mission wings.”he responded when asked what aspect of his journey as a VOSAPian inspired him most.

“I have seen in many organizations that Volunteers do various activities,” he added, “but it is amazing to see how Pranavbhai constantly pushes volunteers, follows up with them, keeps them motivated to do the work, to keep the lamp lighted in the hearts of all to do the best they can.”

Volunteers of Ahmedabad and Rohitji actively meet, get together once a month to talk about different ways they can help SAPs.

Rohitji has been actively participating in a number of VOSAP events, including the Soordas Event, the Announcement of Essay Competition Winners, Annual Event and Enablement Events in Ahmedabad, Palanpur, and Botad, among others. In order to strengthen the Voice of SAP mission, Rohitji has offered his valuable insights, assistance, and guidance from time to time.

He said, “I always used to believe that when we see a Specially Abled Person, rather than having sympathy towards them, we should focus on the special blessing that God gave them the Ability in them and if we can do anything to help increase their Abilities, that’s when we create a better life for them and a better way for Society.” He expressed how he felt when he saw the smiles on the faces of Specially Abled People when he met them.

We are so happy and grateful to have such kind and compassionate volunteers who want to make a difference in every way possible. We are blessed to have such amazing Volunteer who understands the importance of having empathy towards Specially Abled People rather than having sympathy towards their conditions.
